Sub Pop Unveils Digital Subscription Service for New Releases

Sub Pop Subscription Service Drip FM

Aside from offering up a college scholarship, opening an airport store, and participating in some quality pranks, the good people at Sub Pop find the time to put out great albums. Some recent gems include LPs by Clipping and the Afghan Whigs, and if you’re kicking yourself for missing either of them, the legendary label has you covered going forward. Like Dead Oceans, Domino, and OWSLA, Sub Pop has teamed with Drip FM to launch a subscription service that gives fans access to all of their releases.

For $10 a month, you can get DRM-free 320 kbps MP3s or WAV files of Sub Pop albums and singles as soon as they drop, as well as a choice of three LPs from Nirvana, Fleet Foxes, Earth, Clipping, and Shabazz Palaces. Then there’s this little bonus that adds to the infomercial feel of the announcement: “The first 100 subscribers will be entered to win a super rare prize pack which will include Beach House Bloom LP (Loser Edition), a signed Postal Service Give Up (Deluxe) LP, Mudhoney On Top (Record Store Day Exclusive), and other highly desirable Sub Pop items.”
