The-Dream Puts Off ‘IV Play’ Release Yet Again, Shares Album Cover

The-Dream IV Play Release Date Pushed

In a move that surprised no one at all, The-Dream has announced that the release date for his long-awaited and frequently delayed fifth album IV Play has been pushed yet again. Not to be outdone by Vampire Weekend (who moved their new one from May 7 to May 14), the man born Terius Nash has put off his original May 7 release date for the that-much-more-distant May 28. In the same news post to his site, the singer/writer/producer shared the forthcoming LP’s duotone cover art via this tiny, shitty image:

So far, we’ve heard the Fabolous team-up “Slow It Down,” plus the not-so-great rap-ish track “TRON.” It’s unclear whether the latter track will make it onto the album. As previously reported, The-Dream has recommitted himself to the business of crafting “authentic love-making CDs.” The latest press release promises that IV Play will “arouse music enthusiasts.” Lest we forget, this album was originally scheduled to be his fourth, but then 1977 happened.
