Yeasayer Share Live ‘Reagan’s Skeleton’ Video, Add Tour Dates

Yeasayer's Chris Keating

Yeasayer must be as excited for tonight’s debate between Vice President Joe Biden and vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan as anyone. Before TIME even had a chance to publish their workout photos of the Zeppelin, Led-loving Wisconsin congressman, Yeasayer got out in front yesterday with a vintage-looking performance video for Fragrant World funk-pop workout “Reagan’s Skeleton.”

Shot by London-based filmmaking duo Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard, who have previously worked with Nick Cave, the live-session clip is a sharply executed excuse to revisit what Yeasayer’s Chris Keating rightly called “our most DFA-sounding track” (if you’re into conspiracy theories, DFA recently signed Yeasayer multi-instrumentalist Sinkane). Hold on, Zombie Reagan and his “armies of undead” are coming. Killer Mike it isn’t, but the imagery of a red-eyed, marching Gipper suggests Mike might need to undergo an Iran-Contra-style reversal over whether or not the 40th president is positively, absolutely, undeniably, and reliably — well, you know.

After thus blaspheming the man who single-handedly tore down the Berlin wall while cutting taxes for all and escaping from Tehran with hostages clinging to his mighty legs, of course Yeasayer have booked a trip to Europe. In fact, they’re making up for the dates they postponed in mid-September citing “family reasons,” an announcement that coincided with the birth of multi-instrumentalist Anand Wilder’s new daughter. Full dates for the next leg of the band’s world tour are below.
