The Red Hot Chili Peppers will be on the road through the end of November, and they’re promising fans some new music to accompany their lengthy arena tour — 18 new singles due out by the end of 2012.

Per CoS, frontman Anthony Kiedis told fans at the Chili Peppers’ Grand Rapids show Saturday to “keep one eye open” for a “storm of seven-inches coming out over the next six months.” Those singles, drummer Chad Smith told a fan the next day via Twitter, would include “at least 10 more [I’m With You] B-sides, I promise!” Then Tuesday (May 29), bassist Flea conducted a rapidfire Twitter Q&A with fans, during which he confirmed the singles, saying that, in addition to writing new material while on the road to promote last year’s I’m With You, “we are also going to put out 18 new songs over the next 6 months on 7-inch and digi.”

The “seven-inch storm” follows both a covers EP and a live EP, both of which the Peppers have dropped within the past two months, a time window that also saw their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, their announced headlining gig at Lollapalooza, and ex-guitarist Dave Navarro’s inclusion on SPIN’s 100 Greatest Guitarists list, and a tenacious fan’s discovery of the bridge from “Under the Bridge.”
