Chance the Rapper's First Pitch Is Way Better Than 50 Cent's

Chicago MC actually tosses it to the catcher in front of White Sox crowd

After 50 Cent threw what was perhaps truly the worst ceremonial first pitch in baseball history, Chance the Rapper must've known a lot of eyes would be on him when he was given the honor at a Chicago White Sox game last Friday, May 30. It was only a few days after, and the young MC was doing it in front of his hometown crowd, just like Fiddy did in Queens at Citi Field. But if he was nervous, he didn't show it.

In fact, SPIN's 2013 Rapper of the Year came out with confidence and a lollipop in his mouth, pretending to take a sign from the catcher and look back an imaginary runner at second base. He didn't even wait to see his lob land in the mitt, instead celebrating wildly just knowing he had gotten it somewhat near the plate. As far as first pitches go, it wasn't great — the ball had too much loft and landed to the right of the plate, but at least it was easily caught.

In other impressive Chance news, the Acid Rap mastermind further endeared himself to us with a triumphant cover of the theme song for the PBS kids classic Arthur at Sasquatch, which you can also watch below.

50, for his part, didn't seem to care about his embarrassing toss (which may have been a hoax). He had bigger things going on, like his reunion with his G-Unit pals Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, and Young Buck at Hot 97's annual Summer Jam concert. On top of that, he's got his much-anticipated fifth album Animal Ambition out this week, and a post-game June 14 concert at Citi Field, where he'll hopefully redeem himself through song.
