Watch the Beastie Boys' Mike D Hype the Brooklyn Nets

Rapper introduces NBA team's starting lineup at playoff game

Last night, the Beastie Boys' Mike D introduced the Brooklyn Nets' starting lineup at Barclays Center. Watch a video of his pumped-up pep talk above (via Consequence of Sound/Pitchfork). Brooklyn! The hometown Nets ended up losing their playoff game against the visiting Miami Heat, but we're not sure what more the rapper could've done.

When not on the basketball court, Mike D has been putting together 10-minute punk-trap tracks and reuniting with Ad-Rock to help Yoko Ono. The Beastie Boys recently marked the third anniversary of Adam "MCA" Yauch's death, and breakdancing monks paid tribute to the fallen group member. The Paul's Boutique corner on New York's Lower East Side won't be named "Beastie Boys Square" anytime soon, but you can revisit the album cover via Google Street view.
