The ‘Hey QT’ Video Is the Strangest, Bubbliest Thing You’ll See All Year
Bow down at the robotic feet of PC Music now
After taking South By Southwest by storm last week, QT — a PC Music staple — has now released the music video for “Hey QT,” the “Barbie Girl” of the future none of us actually deserve. Featuring the same model (or actress or robot) featured on the single cover, who happens to be the same woman that performs as QT during live shows, the video is either a brilliant takedown of product placement or a no-fucks given, incredibly well-choreographed treatment. According to a press release:
QT, (real name Quinn Thomas) is a transatlantic artist based in London and New York started making music as a way of expressing energetic sentiments. The “Hey QT” video provides a glimpse of Thomas in her laboratory, where both energy elixirs and club sensations are concocted and distilled.
The British record label has also launched a website in conjunction with the video called DrinkQT.com, which purports that QT is actually “a 5-calorie, sugar-free, 250ml drink, manufactured to contribute to upward shine, vertical connectivity and personal growth” that you can purchase. Watch “Hey QT” above, give into the android’s reign, and check out the SPIN feature on PC Music if you’re just as confused as us.
