Robin Thicke Lives ‘The Good Life’ Despite Getting Hassled by Dad

Robin Thicke good life blurred lines

North American fans still have to wait until Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines album drops, but the singer is keeping his promotional onslaught in high gear with the release of a fifth song from the 11-track LP. “The Good Life,” which closes the record, finds Thicke moving away from previous Blurred Lines sentiments, such as liberating, giving it to, and going stupid for “you.” This time, he’s singing a piano ballad about making it big and surviving life’s ups and downs. (It’s fun to think that his dad, Growing Pains star Alan Thicke, could have inspired the lyric, “My father says when will you ever make it.”)

Though the 2013 wedding season is already in full swing, expect to hear “The Good Life” as a happy couples’ first dance in the future, over and over and over again. Blurred Lines is available on July 30 via Interscope.
