Watch It: Strokes Go to the Opera in New Clip

On the Strokes’ first comeback single “Under Cover of Darkness,” New York’s bad boys deliver an instant classic that recalls the band’s breakthrough album Is This It?. But in the new video for the single, Julian Casablancas and Co. take their skuzzy, Lower East Side-sound to the orchestra by dressing in tuxes (well, everyone except Casablancas) and performing in a plush, gilded opera house. Watch it below.

What’s more, as they lead up to the release of Angles on March 22, the Strokes are previewing new tunes left and right. The latest: the B-side “You’re So Right,” which you can stream here. While “Under Cover of Darkness” hews closely to the Strokes tightly wound pop-rock sound, “You’re So Right” is refreshingly different: a brooding rocker laced with skittering synths and drums, frenetic guitar riffs, and Casablancas doing his finest goth impersonation.
