Uber Will Reportedly Partner With Spotify for In-Car Music Service

Uber Spotify Partnership Conference Call Car Cab

Spotify users are already able to listen to music on the go, but according to The New York Times, the service may be about to go even more mobile. Monday, the alternative car service Uber will reportedly announce a new partnership with the music streaming company in order to provide in-car music for its fleet of vehicles.

Press received invitations on Friday for a conference call slated for Monday morning during which Uber Chief Executive Travis Calinick would announce a “first-of-its-kind partnership” with a “special partner guest. Anonymous sources have said to Techcrunch that the guest will likely be Spotify’s CEO Daniel Ek. According to the Times, riders will be able to play music from their own Spotify playlists in the cars. More details will presumably be available after the call on Monday.

All that said, you still won’t be able to listen to the new Taylor Swift album in an Uber car, so you win some you lose some.
