The fact that you're reading this on the Internet right now means you've likely heard of Lil Bub, the adorable perma-kitten who's become a celebrity in her own tiny, adorable right. That fame has led her to her very own Discovery Channel-affiliated digital talk show, appropriately titled Lil BUB's Big SHOW, and her guest for episode three was none other than legendary music producer Steve Albini.
Though he's known for his fierce opinions, the show offers a softer side of the man who helmed the boards for Nirvana's In Utero, the Pixies' Surfer Rosa, and many many more excellent albums. During the interview, he talks to Bub about driving a PT Cruiser, playing billiards, miracles, his job, and his own cats. Then, thanks to some production magic, the dwarf cat with the always-dangling tongue makes her way to Albini's famed studio for a tour, some piano playing, and a nap on Albini's lap while he reads her own book to her.
Best of all, is that Albini knows Lil Bub's "dude" (owner) Mike Bridavsky, who also happens to own the Bloomington, Indiana studio Russian Recording. Such acts as Rogue Wave, Magnolia Electric Co., Murder by Death, and Defiance, OH have recorded there, and Bridavsky was able to pay off his studio-owning debts thanks to Lil Bub's fame. Go ahead and say "aw" again. It's the right thing to do.
