See Sharon Van Etten Strum the Beauteous New ‘Tarifa’

Sharon Van Etten 'Tarifa' Live Video Acoustic Pickathon

When she isn’t cooing over Leverage Models’ strange pop, shredding with J Mascis, or crushing Nick Cave covers, Sharon Van Etten busies herself by composing incredibly moving songs of her own. Her sublime third album Tramp came out only last year, but the Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter is already unveiling new work, evidenced in the above clip shot by KEXP at Portland’s Pickathon in early August. As charming and bewitching as ever, Van Etten introduces “Tarifa” and begins to strum out a lovely tune about jealous companions, hard truths, and incredible vistas. She plays in the Bunny Glade, accompanied by her touring bandmate Heather Woods Broderick, as Pitchfork points out.
