Under the guise of Leverage Models, producer Shannon Fields records dark, off-kilter pop best suited “for shaking to death.” So far, the Missouri native’s club-friendly project has yielded a string of limited edition cassette tapes, but on October 1, Leverage Models will release its self-titled debut album through Portland’s Hometapes. The upcoming LP promises cameos from members of Yeasayer, LCD Soundsystem, and Sinkane, among others. One notable guest star is Sharon Van Etten, who lends her smoky pipes to “Sweep,” a synth-powered shapeshifter that’s streaming below. Tour dates follow.
