At this year's Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James shared the stage with John Oates, R. Kelly, Alabama Shakes' Brittany Howard, Billy Idol, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and more for the annual Superjam. The genre- and generation-spanning lineup covered a slew of classics, including songs by John Lennon, the Rolling Stones, Prince, Sam Cooke, Sly and the Family Stone, Curtis Mayfield, and Bill Withers. To commemorate the star-studded gig, the show's organizers have put together an eight-part documentary series that goes behind the scenes of the 2013 Superjam. The first episode features exclusive interviews and rehearsal footage of James, Oates, et. al, and climaxes with a sprightly rendition of Lennon's "Instant Karma." Watch it above, and stay tuned for future installments.
