A$AP Rocky Disrupts New York Streets in ‘Riot Rave’ Video

A$AP Rocky 'Riot Rave' Video Baauer

Last June, A$AP Rocky announced that his forthcoming instrumental album Beauty and the Beast: Slowed Down Sessions, Chapter 1 would “get people through the summer” of 2013. Unfortunately, the Harlem rapper didn’t make good on that promise, but now let’s hope his free LP of “really druggy, ambient shit” will help his fans ride out the winter. Under the alias Lord Flacko, Rocky dropped two new tracks, the Baauer-assisted call to arms “Riot Rave” and the Tame Impala-sampling “Unicorn.” The first cut is accompanied by an “art video” that features Rocky and the A$AP Mob rioting around the five boroughs of New York alongside videos of two-faced animals, fire, and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Basically, it’s a weirder remake of his previous NYC-rioting video for “Angels.” “Unicorn,” meanwhile, takes Tame Imapala’s Lonerism track “Feels Like We Only Go Backwards,” slows it down, and drenches it in even more reverb. While we await the instrumental album, A$AP will release his new documentary SVDDXNLY at SXSW.
