Dirty Projectors Announce New Album Lamp Lit Prose, Release “Break-Thru”

DIRTY PROJECTORS

Dirty Projectors have announced a new album called Lamp Lit Prose, the follow-up to last year’s self-titled record. Produced by DP bandleader Dave Longstreth at his L.A. studio, the album features a stacked guest list, including features from Haim, Robin Pecknold of Fleet Foxes, Rostam (formerly of Vampire Weekend), Syd, Empress Of, Amber Mark, and Dear Nora.

The band also released a new single called “Break-Thru,” which sounds more immediately Dirty Projectors-ish than anything on the self-titled album, with of the sort of King Sunny Ade-style clean guitar licks that characterized classic albums like Bitte Orca. Previously, the Projectors announced a world tour with a new lineup, their first in five years.

Hear “Break-Thru” below and see the Lamp Lit Prose tracklist after that. The album is out  July 13 via Domino.
