Of Montreal Drop ‘It’s Different for Girls’ and Announce New Album

Zane Lowe has been on a roll for a while: He’s gotten premieres from Chance the Rapper, Kaytranada, and now, of Montreal. The Georgian outfit debuted a new song called “it’s different for girls” on the DJ’s Beats 1 show today, and the track features a thumping bass riff and ornate sonic doo-dads that fit right into the collective’s experimental aesthetic.

Of Montreal also announced that their 13th studio album, Innocence Reaches, is on its way. Frontman Kevin Barnes says the 12-track project was inspired by recent outputs from Jack Ü, Arca, and Chairlift, according to Stereogum. Whether those influences make for a good album will be seen August 12.
