Kacey Musgraves Links Up With Buddy Miller to Cover ‘Love’s Gonna Live Here’

Pageant Material singer Kacey Musgraves knows her way around a cover — SPIN premiered her whimsical take on the Mary Poppins staple “A Spoonful of Sugar” last fall — and now she’s added to her repertoire by duetting with the legendary producer and musician Buddy Miller on Buck Owens’ twangy classic “Love’s Gonna Live Here.”

Taken from Buddy Miller & Friend’s Cayamo Sessions At Sea — due out Friday, January 28 — Musgraves and Miller’s duet was recorded on a musical cruise on the high seas, during which “some of the best songwriters in country, Americana, folk and roots music set sail on a musical adventure called Cayamo.”

There’s something intrinsically relatable about Musgraves’ delivery — at once both aching and definitive in her tone — that pairs well with the wilting fiddles and Miller’s harmonizing. Hear it below and don’t miss Cayamo, which also features Lucinda Williams, Lee Ann Womack, Brandi Carlile, and more.
