Recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Green Day have just released a new Christmas single called “Xmas Time of the Year” and it’s streaming below. With lyrics by Billie Joe Armstrong — “This time / I’ve got no resolutions / Giving thanks for nothing,” he sneers as bells jingle menacingly in the background — the song’s the perfect way to usher in Christmas Eve with a big middle finger. “Happy Holidays from Green Day!” the band wrote of the song, and truly, what a happier holiday it’s become.
