Rainn Wilson From ‘The Office’ Played Bassoon With Mark Kozelek
The actor was promoting his recent memoir, 'The Bassoon King: My Life in Art, Faith, and Idiocy'
Rainn Wilson’s character on The Office, cantankerous oddball Dwight Schrute, has more than a little in common with Sun Kil Moon’s genius grump Mark Kozelek. So it makes a certain amount of weird sense that the two would have a collaboration of sorts, as they shared a brief duet while the actor was promoting his recent memoir, The Bassoon King: My Life in Art, Faith, and Idiocy.
Kozelek moderated a discussion with Wilson last night at The Grand Lake Theater in Oakland, California, and at one point they whipped out their instruments — a guitar for Kozelek and, as you might’ve guessed, a basson for Wilson — and played a bit together. Only a short Instagram video of the performance has surfaced so far, but you can check it out below. (h/t Stereogum)
