Tame Impala Mingle Horny Students With ‘Heavy Metal’ in X-Rated ‘Mind Mischief’ Video
'Lonerism' clip plays like psych-rock "Hot for Teacher"
Tame Impala’s love for Led Zeppelin courses throughout their latest album Lonerism, but it’s Van Halen that serves as the inspiration for their new video for “Mind Mischief.” Like David Lee Roth almost 30 years ago, the Aussie psych-rockers are hot for teacher, and “Mind Mischief” spends a good duration of its opening verses focused on students fantasizing about their attractive instructor as she struts in slow-mo down the hallway in a curve-hugging pencil skirt. For one lucky student, the fantasy carries over into the parking lot as he and the naughty teacher share a smoke and an X-rated animated fantasy straight out of stoner classic Heavy Metal. (Tame Impala sure loves that hallucinogenic imagery.) The fun ends when the animation stops and the student finds himself dazed and left in a grassy ditch.
The David Wilson-directed video was co-produced by “hipster” retailer Urban Outfitters, so if you like the costume design in this video, you can probably grab the garb at your local UO.
