Foo Fighters, QOTSA, Led Zep Supergroup Live!

Unless God pushed aside the velvet ropes to grant you access to Them Crooked Vultures’ inaugural concert in Chicago two weeks ago, you haven’t heard much from the rock behemoth that is Foo Fighter Dave Grohl, Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, and Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones — that is, until now.

Wednesday, the boys posted a 33 second clip of “Nobody Loves Me and Neither Do I.” Thursday, video footage surfaced of the group ripping through “Dead End Friends” from their second concert ever in Amsterdam. And today, video of the band’s third show, a surprise gig at Hasselt, Belgium’s Pukkelpop fest, emerged. The consensus: It’s loud, heavier than plutonium, and always a treat to watch Grohl annihilate a drum kit. Watch below.

Them Crooked Vultures’ debut album, rumored to be titled Never Deserved the Future, is expected this fall, as is a supporting U.S. tour.

What the band is up to now remains somewhat of a mystery. A forum on the band’s site is abuzz with rumors that Them Crooked Vultures will play Reading Fest Aug. 28 and London’s Islington Academy on August 24. The venue’s website denies this, but, really, if they advertised the show wouldn’t it ruin the band’s mysteriousness and send the boys into a head-banging conniption fit?
