Bad Brains, one of the definitive groups of American punk, are working on a new album, and the Beastie Boys’ MCA (a.k.a. Adam Yauch) is handling production duties. Set to drop this spring on Megaforce, the untitled album is currently being completed in New York City, where it will be the first non-Beasties record to emerge from the Boys’ Oscilloscope Laboratories recording studio. Although no exact details have been announced, Bad Brains will launch a worldwide tour to coincide with the album’s release, according to Megaforce. Meanwhile, fans can catch Bad Brains at festivals this spring and summer, including the Sasquatch! Music Festival, May 26-28 in George, WA, where the rockers will share the stage with the Beastie Boys.
