Lollapalooza and Chicago’s Grant Park Decide to Go Steady

Chicago has given Perry Farrell its equivalent of a varsity letter jacket, committing to have Lollapalooza plant its roots at Grant Park through 2011. Additionally, Lolla producers Capital Sports & Entertainment (CSE) and Charles Attal Presents will continue to work with the Parkways Foundation, the fundraising arm of the Chicago Park District, for which they raised more than $925,000 in 2006. “The philosophy we cultivate is an inclusive, collaborative one, where citizens and government share the experience,” Charlie Jones, executive producer at CSE, said in a statement. “The event has to be something the public supports and champions — not just a road show.” Lollapalooza 2007 is now set to take place Aug. 3-5.
