Label-less Babyshambles Drop New Single

The band fronted by the erratic Pete Doherty have released a new track in conjunction with their appearance at a London music festival later this summer.

Despite an expired recording contract with Rough Trade, Babyshambles are still hard at work, having released a new single via the MySpace page for Get Loaded in the Park, a London festival that the band is scheduled to play on Aug. 27. “Beg, Steal or Borrow” is a stripped down, bouncy, and charming mod track that sounds like it was recorded in a bedroom. The band’s infrequently updated official site and MySpace page offer no explanation of the new recording, but perhaps Pete and company will play it at Get Loaded, which also features the Buzzcocks, Graham Coxon, Badly Drawn Boy, British Sea Power, and De La Soul, among others.
