Super groups, unite! Belle and Sebastian and the New Pornographers, both Matador recording artists, are planning to tour together in early 2006. The New Pornographers will be touring in support of their latest release, Twin Cinema, while Belle and Sebastian will be playing ditties from their most recent, The Life Pursuit, which drops Feb. 7.
It’s unclear whether the supergroups’ leading ladies — Neko Case of the New Pornographers and Isobel Campbell of Belle and Sebastian — will be joining the U.S. tour, as both singers are releasing side projects in early 2006. Campbell is releasing her first full length — a collaboration with former Screaming Trees member Mark Lanegan called Ballad of the Broken Seas — on Feb. 21, while Case is releasing her fourth solo album, Fox Confessor Brings the Flood, on March 7.
Belle and Sebastian will be touring the U.K. until Feb. 10.
