  • Brian Williams raps Sugarhill Gang's

Here's Brian Williams' 'Rapper's Delight' Supercut Jimmy Fallon Forced Upon Us

Jimmy Fallon is just three days into his tenure as host of The Tonight Show, but the 39-year-old multi-threat looks like he's committed to the same virally intended music sketches that became Late Night's trademark. His first two nights as Jay Leno's successor saw performances by U2 and Lady Gaga, a barbershop-style remake of R. Kelly's classic "Ignition (Remix)," and "The Evolution of Hip-Hop Dancing," co-starring Will Smith. Now, there's this. Night three included a 90-second segment of NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams rapping the Sugarhill Gang's historic 1979 single "Rapper's Delight" — kind of.Much like President Obama's rendition of "Call Me Maybe," the unintentional "Rapper's Delight" cover is actually a collage of old video clips.

    Hear Arum Rae's Sultry Cyber-Soul '2001'

Arum Rae started writing songs while attending Boston's Berklee College of Music, back when she carefully studied the stylings of Nina Simone and Ella Fitzgerald. In the time since, the Austin native (whose full name is Arum Rae Valkonen) has settled in Brooklyn, adopted and abandoned the moniker of White Dress, and joined forces with producer Sanford Livingston. Their partnership has resulted in the Warranted Queen EP, Arum Rae's debut effort. The self-released set doesn't officially arrive until April 22, but Arum Rae has shared an advance track from the EP. For a minimal blend of heavy, nocturnal beats and Auto-Tuned soul singing, stream "2001" below.

Hear Ski Lodge Channel the Smiths on Somber Single 'Our Love Is Over Now'

Last we heard from Ski Lodge, they were saluting Simple Minds with a shimmering cover of the Breakfast Club classic "Don't You Forget About Me." Now, the Andrew Marr-fronted foursome have resurfaced with an original new song that resembles the work of another bunch of '80s romantics: the Smiths. Titled "Our Love Is Over Now," the self-released digital single sways with the help of sullen piano, melodramatic guitar strums, and a wounded croon that packs a wallop. "Our love is over now," Marr sings. "We never had much to begin with." Stream it below.

Yuck Share 'Another One' From Dreamy 'Southern Skies' EP

Yuck rebounded from the departure of lead singer Daniel Blumberg with 2013's Glow & Behold, a solid sophomore effort that saw guitarist Max Bloom step up to the microphone. Now, Yuck 2.0 continues to slouch onward with the Southern Skies EP, a four-song collection due for release this spring. The '90s-loving Londoners have already shared one track from the upcoming set (the shoegazing "Athena"), and now they've dropped, well, "Another One." Paired with a pinkish visual, the new tune continues the alt-rock revival, swirling together lilting boy-girl harmonies, carefully parceled out pedal effects, and evenhanded swathes of fuzz. Listen above.

Dum Dum Girls Go Full Goth-Glam for 'Too True to Be Good' Video

Back in November, Dum Dum Girls teased their Too True album by releasing a 90-second snippet of the music video for "Too True to Be Good," the record's semi-title track. Now, since the LP is officially out, the Dum Dums have shared the entire clip — unfortunately, there isn't too much here that we haven't already seen. Directed by Nathaniel Brown and produced by V Magazine, the video splits its time between overexposed shots of flowers and slightly fuzzy footage of frontwoman Dee Dee Penny vamping and lip-syncing for the camera. There is one revealing shot of Dee Dee that didn't make it into last year's preview, though, so look out for near-NSFW content.Watch the video above and flip through SPIN's recent live photo gallery, Dum Dum Girls Go All-Black-Everything at Mercury Lounge.
