It seems that not even hurricane Gustav can slow New Orleans' Voodoo Music Experience, as festival officials -- unfazed by the recent storm and others on the way -- have added even more bands to the event's lineup.

Who? Genre-defying quintet TV on the Radio, best identified by swirling, fuzzed-out instrumentation, inventive arrangements, and -- most notably -- frontman Tunde Adebimpe pitched vocals and core member Dave Sitek's guitar work, ethereal loops, and heavy-handed production gloss.

It's official! SPIN.com has confirmed that TV on the Radio's third full-length and follow up to 2006's acclaimed set, Return to Cookie Mountain, has been titled Dear Science, and issued a Sept. 23 release date by label Interscope.

Last night, at the 10-day Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, Brooklyn's avant-indie rock outfit TV on the Radio introduced an audience of smarty-pants fans and curious festival-goers to their white hot energy and brilliant noise. (Sadly, the large Metropolis venue was about half full, maybe because local heads Bran Van 3000 were playing a free outdoor show down the street.)
