The Hot Pursuit, Spin magazine and Music Nation's online challenge in search of the next breakout rock act, has pushed two more bands into to the next round. The Scarlet, a trio hailing from Yorktown Heights, NY, which judge Tim Kasher (Cursive, the Good Life) calls "much more interesting and captivating then 98 percent of music out there today," as well as New York City-based outfit the Fire and the Reason, now move forward, joining other victorious acts like Theo and the Skyscrapers and the Jetsetting.
