In the wake of an altercation between celeb blogger Perez Hilton and Black Eyed Peas mastermind Will.i.Am, both parties have taken the web with their side of the story.
According to Hilton, the beef started during a dress rehearsal for the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto last Saturday when Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie approached the blogger about his recent criticisms of the band's new album, The E.N.D.. At an after-party following the ceremony on Sunday, Will.i.Am confronted Hilton at a nightclub. The altercation led to the band's manager, Liborio "Polo" Molina, allegedly hitting Hilton.
Hilton announced the battery directly following the incident via Twitter.
"I was assaulted by Will.i.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards," Hilton wrote. "I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke."
Responding to the allegations, Will.i.Am posted a video on his website Dipdive.
"Tonight was a good night and a crazy night," he begins. He then goes on to recount how he confronted Hilton after the blogger made disparaging remarks about the Black Eyed Peas' latest album to bandmate Fergie. After approaching Hilton about the remarks, Will.i.Am alleges that the celeb blogger called him "a faggot."
"This dude says in front of a whole bunch of people, fans outside, 'You're a faggot, Will.i.Am,'" the rapper explained. "So all these fans are like, 'You gonna let him talk to you like that?'"
Will.i.Am claimed to have walked away, at which point he said a fan physically attacked Hilton on his behalf.
Hilton later posted his own 12-minute account of what happened.
"Violence is never the answer," Hilton said in the video. "I know that I say things that can really upset people. That's never a reason to hit someone."
He then went on to dispute the truth of Will.i.Am's video account: "He lied. Will.i.Am is a coward and a disgusting human being for lying. And I'm making this video because I want to make it clear that I would never make up something like this. I would never lie about something so serious."
Hilton admitted to calling Will.i.Am a "faggot," saying "I knew that was going to set him off, but I didn't want to get into a fight with this person." He also claimed that after leaving the club, Will.i.Am's manager, Polo, "comes up to me, clocks me in the eye and punches me two or three times."
According to the Associated Press, Molina has been charged with assault and will have his first court hearing on August 5.

You cant call a grown man a "faggot" in public and not expect a reaction like the one he encountered. You cant say you knew it would set him off, but then say you didnt want to fight.....thats the true definition of a coward. Ok so one thing that i was to know it is how hilton has his left eye all messed up in this pic but on his video its his right eye and his left eye is fine? Hilton says that Will i am coward but Hilton is the one that hinds behind his words and his blogs. Whomever did this to Perez I APPLAUD YOU! Someone had to hit that Fag! His eye wasnt messed up for the video and it would have shown up within a couple min after it happened but it didnt. Perez Hilton talks shit about people all the time. I am not surprised he got hit in the face. Hell, it was probably a long time coming. Lets be honest for a minute. Whether or not Will.i.Am punched him the face does not matter. He called the man Faggot. That action deserved a punch in the face but not for the sake of violence. I assume Perez has never been punched. He even said in his long winded account that "this has never happened to me!". Now, i'm not condoning the action of the mystery fist thrower, but i will say it was probably healthy for Perez to get knocked down a peg to remind him that you just can't go around talking shit to people, calling them a faggot, then pleading for peace when someone gets irritated enough to make an action. Will.i.am has a very sane presentation regarding the events of the evening, while perez hilton is screaming and cursing. Interesting. He is definitely an ass clown, but unfortunately people listen to people like him. How long do you attack people with words before someone gets fed up and fights back? He deserved it.

Will.i.am didn't hit him.And why are you using the term "criticism" just because Perez said it? Perez was verbally assaulting him, just like he does for a living. I am not a fan of either, but I feel the same way that most of you here do. Perez has gotton famous by calling people out, calling people names, and trying to spread his views and opinions on others. Its about time someone gave hims a taste of what his actions do to society. He is right that he shouldn't have been hit, but he also really needs to think about who he is saying these comments to. Some people do not play at all. I think if anyone should know what its like to be called a fag and what it does to you, Perez should know!
