Annie Clark's next album as St. Vincent isn't due out until February 25 via Loma Vista, but now you can listen to St. Vincent in all its sly, digital-funk splendor. Clark recorded her fourth solo album (that's not counting her 2012 collaborative full-length with David Byrne, Love This Giant) with producer John Congleton in Dallas, plus help from Dap-Kings drummer Homer Steinweiss and Midlake's McKenzie Smith. "I knew the groove needed to be paramount," the former SPIN cover star said last December in a statement. "I wanted to make a party record you could play at a funeral." It's the proper follow-up to 2011's Strange Mercy; we've already heard "Digital Witness," "Birth in Reverse," and "Prince Johnny," but now we get "Bring Me Your Loves," among other guitar-frying highlights.
