Hear Sigur Ros’ Haunting ‘The Rains of Castamere’ for ‘Game of Thrones’

Sigur Ros 'The Rains of Castamere' 'Game of Thrones'

We’re not spoiling anything by saying that the most recent twist-heavy Game of Thrones episode featured Sigur Rós as a wedding band, performing the folk song “Rains of Castamere.” It’s not as heavy as the National’s previous rendition, but it’s eerie nonetheless, thanks to Jónsi’s ethereal vocals and the squawks of birds in the background. Here’s hoping that George R. R. Martin somehow finds a way to get Big Boi involved in the next wedding, as the Outkast rapper contributed the track “Mother of Dragons” to the Game of Thrones mixtape. Meantime, enjoy Sigur Rós’ contribution to the series below (download it via iTunes).
