Friday, Wal-Mart staged their annual shareholders meeting in Fayetteville, Arkansas and who else was on hand to lend a song and an ageless smile but the omnipresent Pharrell Williams performing his inescapable hit "Happy."
According to MSNBC, the event began with a video of Wal-Mart employees singing the track before Williams took the stage and did his own rendition. As he walked off the stage he said "put your hands together for Wal-Mart, for making the world a happier place."
This came shortly before a current Wal-Mart employee presented to the same shareholders in an attempt to force out current chairman Rob Walton, due to the poor standard of living for some of those employees. The proposal to oust Walton was later voted down, but any downcast mood was reportedly dispelled by performances from Harry Connick Jr., Robin Thicke, Sarah McLachlan, Aloe Blacc in addition to Pharrell.
