The Pains of Being Pure at Heart's third LP, Days of Abandon is out today via Yebo, and the band is celebrating with the release of an animated video for the fizzy single, "Until The Sun Explodes." The clip premieres via Shazam, so if you wish you can click over to this snippet version and "Shazam" the thing to unlock the full visual on your mobile device. But we already did that, so if you'd rather you can just watch it above.

Therein, an animated Kip Berman kicks on a golden guitar pedal and turns his band into interstellar glam rockers who seem to owe quite a bit to Jem and the Holograms. Between this and the recent visual for Dum Dum Girls' "Rimbaud Eyes" it seems the time is right for a proper Jemrevival, so keep your fingers crossed that G.I. Joe: Retaliation director Jon M. Chu gets his modern retelling right. For more from the Pains, check out our recent In My Room feature with Berman, where he gives us a tour of his Greenpoint, Brooklyn apartment.
