Like the rest of his bandmates in currently-on-hiatus pop-punk band Fall Out Boy, Pete Wentz appears to be branching out on his own with a new project.

A recent post on the bassist/songwriter's blog links to another site, bl4ckc4rds.com (read as "Black Cards"), whose sole content is a one-minute-and-twelve-second clip of a song where a female singer waxes about "dancing around in a club called 'Heaven.'" Hear it here.

"Next week things will appear on this site in a very controlled distribution," Wentz write cryptically on his blog. "If you enjoy it, keep coming back. If it's not for you than [sic] we understand."

A spokesperson for Wentz declined to comment on the project.

If Black Cards is indeed Wentz's first post-FOB effort, he'd be following suit with the rest of his band, each of whom has moved on since November, when Fall Out Boy announced they'd be taking a break. Back in February, singer Patrick Stump told SPIN.com that he was no longer in Fall Out Boy -- a comment that sparked a week's worth of online banter among the band members, in which they addressed the breakup rumors.

Stump is releasing his own solo album, and made his live debut at Austin's South by Southwest in March. Meanwhile, guitarist Joe Trohman and drummer Andy Hurley are playing as the Damned Things, a new band also featuring Scott Ian and Rob Caggiano of Anthrax and Every Time I Die singer Keith Buckley which made its live debut last month in Brooklyn.
