Jack White just smashed a 20-year-old record. The Nashville rock god sold 40,000 vinyl copies of his new LP, Lazaretto, in the first sales week since the album's June 10 debut. That handily breaks the 34K-record for one-week vinyl sales Pearl Jam set in 1994 with their album Vitalogy.

Lazaretto also landed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart with 138,000 units sold total, according to Nielsen SoundScan. James Donio, the President of the Music Business Association, cited the rabid response to the latest release on White's Third Man Records label as evidence of the ongoing vinyl revival. The album's success "proves there is an appetite for physical formats, especially for artists who go the extra mile to offer something truly unique," Donio said. The 12" version of White's album has some special features, including the ability to project a hologram when it spins.

And that's not the only honor White's earned this week: He was also awarded his own ice cream flavor. Australian chain Gelato Messina rolled out a line called Jack N' White that includes caramelized white chocolate, pecans, fudge, and, of course, a shot of Jack Daniels whiskey. The catch is that it's only available in Australia, and only for the next week.
