Los Angeles quartet Incan Abraham have made huge strides over the past year or so. In 2012, their Springhouse EP found the worldly psych-pop band coming into their own in undeniable ways, nabbing comparisons to folks like Grizzly Bear and Local Natives for their combination of plaintive melody, tropical flare, and compositional smarts. New song "Tuolumne" seems to flow out that set's titular song thanks to a subtly shifting synth line that blooms into a loping groove. Warm guitar comes to the fore, followed by the vocals of Teddy Cafaro, who manages to put a little Police spit-shine on his able pipes. The song comes courtesy of L.A. label White Iris, who are packaging it as a digital single (plus photo zine) backed with a tune called "Whidbey" produced by Fool's Gold and Foreign Born friend Lewis Pesacov. Due out August 6. Pre-order here. Dates below the song.

Incan Abraham tour dates:

July 11 - Los Angeles, CA @ The Echo
July 12 - San Diego, CA @ The Void
July 13 - Costa Mesa, CA @ Detroit Bar
