  • After reports surfaced over the weekend that Phil Collins has retired from music due to health issues, his rep has clarified his comments by insisting he is not calling it quits. "He is not, has no intention of, retiring," Collins' rep said. [People]

  • Ticket grosses for Green Day's American Idiot have seen a steep decline since Billie Joe Armstrong wrapped up his stint playing St. Jimmy. In its first week without Armstrong, ticket sales plunged from $1.3 million to $395,275, and while The New York Times points out it is a typically slow week for Broadway box office grosses, that sort of sharp decline historically leads to a production's closing.   • Julie Taymor, the director of U2's Spider-Man musical, is in negotiations with producers to expand the creative team behind the troubled musical, or face leaving the show. Taymor and producers - along with U2's Bono and the Edge - are also mulling overhauling the music and script, which may find its March 15 opening date delayed even further. [The New York Times]

  • Prodigy -- one half of the rap duo Mobb Deep -- has been released from prison after serving three years for criminal possession of a weapon. [Billboard]

  • Neil Young will hit the road for a 15-date spring solo tour, which kicks off April 15 in Durham, NC, and wraps on May 7 in Chicago. Young's sets will mix electric and acoustic versions of classic tunes as well as cuts from his latest album Le Noise, according to a statement.
