SoCal hard rockers Avenged Sevenfold have turned tragedy into triumph: Just eight months after the sudden death of their drummer (and co-songwriter) Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan, the band enters this week's Billboard 200 album chart at No. 1 with Nightmare, their fifth record.

Nightmare, which serves as a tribute, in part, to Sullivan's memory -- the late drummer's vocals and piano even appear on the song "Fiction" -- moved 162,500 units in its first week, unseating Eminem's Recovery after its five-week run in the No. 1 spot.

Nightmare also held the top position on iTunes' album chart this week.

Sullivan died in late December 2009, and a June toxicology report determined his cause of death to be an accidental overdose of prescription drugs and alcohol. He was 28.

Avenged Sevenfold kick off the Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Tour on August 17 in Minneapolis, MN, co-headlining with Disturbed. Click here for dates.
