A$AP Mob’s Cozy Tapes Vol. 1: Friends, a compilation project dedicated to the group’s founder A$AP Yams, is dropping on October 31. Album cuts “Telephone Calls” and “Runner” will be dropping this Friday, a week after the short film Money Man—which showcased “Money Man” and the Skepta-featuring “Put That on My Set”—made its way online.
The new project will be the group’s second after 2012’s Lord$ Never Worry. There was a planned follow-up called L.O.R.D.$, but it was scrapped. In an interview, Yams cited that 2014’s blandness was the reason for the shelving. “Nothing has inspired us to drop nothing,” he said. “So we went back to the drawing board with it. It’s drawing board season right now. It’s been a lot of wack shit.” Yams passed away in January 2015 from an accidental drug overdose, causing widespread grief through the hip-hop community.
Like A$AP Rocky’s sophomore album AT.LONG.LAST.A$AP, the cover for Cozy Tapes Vol. 1: Friends will feature Yams’ signature cheek birthmark. Look at the album cover and track list below.
