Lil Wayne Presses Reset on “Grateful”

This corny theme song for a sports talk show will not, in fact, the be the last thing Lil Wayne ever records. He may be “defenseless and mentally defeated” by his battle to extricate himself from Cash Money Records, but he’s ready to move on. “Tell the press I’m not depressed, I just had to press reset,” he raps over gospel samples on a new song, “Grateful.”

Owing to Weezy’s label troubles, “Grateful” is a TIDAL exclusive. It also includes some digs at Cash Money and CEO Birdman: “You don’t see Stunna right next to me / And I won’t see Stunna write checks to me / They can’t put no more Weezy Baby out / That’s that Cash Money vasectomy.” Listen below.
