Chance the Rapper and His Brother Taylor Bennett Team Up on Sentimental ‘Broad Shoulders’

Chance the Rapper‘s younger brother, Taylor Bennett, is a talented rapper in his own right. Following a video for single “Happy Place,” which dropped earlier this month, today Bennett has released a collaboration with his older brother called “Broad Shoulders,” which is set to appear on an album of the same name.

Technically the second song the Chicago brothers have recorded together (the first won’t be available until Chance drops his third solo project), “Broad Shoulders” is a sweet piano-based rap ballad that oscillates between a sung chorus, rapidly spit verses, and a spoken-word section.

“It’s different having a sibling in the entertainment business,” Bennett told Rolling Stone of his professional vs. personal relationship with Chance. “My thing with my brother is that he always wanted me to work on myself and create my own name before we got to work together. He always knew that I was great enough to get a fanbase and sell out shows and get a lot of views. It’s a very meaningful song to our family and our next generation. Chance is now a father, and in the third verse, I speak about my niece — his daughter — so it’s a really emotional and compassionate song.”
