In an interview with SPIN last month, Girlpool’s Harmony Tividad and Cleo Tucker explained that their upcoming debut album will touch on growing up and figuring out life’s different chapters while “constantly developing and changing.” The LP’s title track, “Before the World Was Big,” which they just shared, really drives this point home. There’s a certain simplicity to the sing-songy tune, which fits the nostalgic lyrics about a smaller, less complicated time in one’s life before everything got big and responsibilities were a thing.
