Stream Girlpool’s Self-Titled EP on Spotify

Girlpool

Percussionless Los Angeles punk-rock duo Girlpool, whose self-titled debut EP is set to receive a physical release on November 18 via Wichita Recordings, have unveiled their seven-song disc early on streaming service Spotify.

Packed with smart-mouthed lyrics that comment on committment-phobic dudes (“Blah Blah Blah”) and girls named Jane punching boys named Tommy in the mouth (eh, he probably deserved it), Girlpool might be instrumentally sparse, but its unapologetic spunk and organic ability to make the things lots of smart ladies think to themselves but never say (“I’ll never understand what it means to be a man who is white / ’cause he never has to fight”) sound poetic is praiseworthy, indeed.
