Arctic Monkeys, Katy B Share ‘Jools Holland’ Stage With Paul McCartney

The past, present, and hopeful future of British pop crossed paths on the newest episode of the BBC’s Later… With Jools Holland. Paul McCartney, Arctic Monkeys, and Katy B all performed on the October 22 show. Also on the impressive bill were American blues-rock festival king Gary Clark Jr. and London-reared, Paris-based Benjamin Clementine, a rich-voiced, piano-wielding singer-songwriter making his TV debut.

McCartney performed the Beatles’ classic “Get Back” with host Holland on piano, but video from that performance is not currently available in the United States. Footage has, however, emerged of Arctic Monkeys powering through advance AM single “R U Mine?” and jauntier album track “Snap Out of It.” Watch the former above and the latter below, and more clips as they become available.

Also of note: Arctic Monkeys once covered Katy B’s “Katy on a Mission” in a rendition that helped predict the glammed-out R&B influences on “R U Mine?” and the rest of AM. (Her performance of “5AM” isn’t available in the states yet, either.)

An extended version of the episode will air on October 25, so keep an eye out for whatever additional footage may creep its way across the pond.
