Green Day Crowned ‘Biggest Rock Band in the World’ in Official ‘¡Dos!’ Trailer

Green Day bailed on their headlining slot at the Voodoo Music + Arts Experience festival — which Metallica happily filled in for — but the No Cal punks blaze ahead on the promotional trail for their back-to-basics album trilogy with an official trailer for ¡Dos!. The preview, clocking in at just under a minute, features footage of the self-described “Biggest Rock Band in the World” running, jumping, and sweating on stage. ¡Dos! entries “Stop When The Red Lights Flash,” “Fuck Time,” and the Britpoppy “Stray Heart” soundtrack the clip, which also has bits of the band recording sprinkled throughout.

This trailer follows the drama-free video for “Troublemaker,” the newest single off of ¡Uno!, and a preview of “Lazy Bones” off ¡Dos!. It remains to be seen whether the band will be able to keep pace with the triology’s aggressive marketing strategy now that frontman Billie Joe Armstrong is in treatment following his profanity-ridden rant on stage in Las Vegas. Green Day’s long-time producer and Warner Bros. chairman Rob Cavallo recently hinted to Rolling Stone that the band may have to miss some shows on their upcoming arena tour. “His rehab is no joke,” Cavallo said. “He’s under medical supervision for a while to get him clean.”

¡Dos! arrives on November 13 and ¡Tré! is scheduled for a January 15 release.
