One of SXSW’s most promising acts was dealt the heaviest of blows this past week. Oxford, MS quartet and former SPIN.com Artist of the Day Colour Revolt could have easily given up after the band’s van, containing the entirety of their equipment, was stolen after playing a gig in at Ellum’s in Dallas. About fifteen minutes after fully loading up, the trailer, van, and band members’ personal belongings disappeared, subsequently causing a gig cancellation in Houston. In a bout of incredible perseverance, the band remains full of promise and still made their four SXSW appearances.
