Timberlake Heads Record Label

It appears Justin Timberlake will have less time to mull the revival of former girlfriend Britney Spears’ musical career, for the “SexyBack” singer has spearheaded Tennman (get it: a man from Tennessee), a new record label launched as a joint venture with Interscope, AllHipHop.com reports. Tennman, based in Los Angeles, will see Timberlake act as Chairman and CEO while Ken Komisar, an industry heavyweight who has served as VP of A&R at Sony BMG since 2000, will fill the role of label president. Interscope, also home to Eminem’s Shady imprint, Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment, 50 Cent’s G-Unit label, and Timbaland’s Mosely Music Group, will distribute all Tennman worldwide.

“We are all excited about the talent we have to offer already on our roster and I cannot wait to introduce the world to my new discoveries,” Timberlake reportedly said in a statement. Komisar added, “We are already underway with several artists in development and look forward to sharing their work with music fans everywhere.” Details regarding artists on the newfound label’s roster will soon be announced.
