Today, the xx released their new album I See You. They also shared a new cover, as the trio performed a cover of Drake and Rihanna’s collaboration “Too Good” at BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge. The xx didn’t try to evoke the original’s festive textures; it’s a stripped down version that emphasizes the verses. The instrumentation from “Too Good” might have been at home in the xx’s recent effort, but this cover fits in with their sparse self-titled debut. Listen here around the 2:15:00 mark.
