The word “conceptual” is not new to Jenny Hval, as the Norwegian experimental-pop artist is prone to coining all kinds of new catchphrases in her projects (see: “Soft Dick Rock”). On the second advance track from her upcoming Blood Bitch record (following lead single “Female Vampire”), Hval fuses eloquent poetry with gentle keys and slippery percussion to form a thought piece that walks through the singer’s understanding — or perhaps lack thereof — of what her participation in romantic partnership means.
